Older News of Note

President Barack Obama concluded his European Tour in Poland on May 28, 2011. Notably he hailed Poland as a world model for a transition to democracy. He cited Poland as an inspiration to other countries, notably those in the Middle East, struggling for democracy.
To Prime Minister Donald Tusk he said: “Poland can play an extraordinary role precisely because they have traveled so far so rapidly over the last 25 years.”
He also pledged to work with Congress to rewrite the law allowing Poland to qualify for a visa waiver program in the U.S. Noting rising income of the Polish population he quipped: "We very much want you to shop on Fifth Avenue, and anywhere else in the United States".
