About our 75th Anniversary Poster

I created the poster in Adobe PhotoShop CS4 from four photographs using the compositing technique.  The design uses the movie poster model to strike attention and tell a story.

Words were intentionally minimized to an informative slogan and most basic facts. The pictures tell thousands.

Eva Seibak welcomes you!

The technical intent of the composition is to draw attention to the face. That is the first focus for the viewer.  The House of Poland banner is in close proximity thus immediately and unambiguously identifies our entity. The dominant diagonal directs the viewer’s attention to the slogan so that the story is understood. The story is told through the vibrant costume, the cottage, and the secondary pictures. The numeral 75 is a cutout of the apron.

Our model is our spokesperson Eva Seibak and the photographer is Paulina LaScola. They are both talented and deliver quality work. We are fortunate and very grateful to have their contribution. (I took the secondary pix of funiture and the splendid Easter Breakfast display by Bozena Galazkowski).

The poster design was modeled after the breakthrough graphic that pioneered the genre: the “Gone With the Wind” poster. The story's a bit different, however. Enjoy!
