1 MAY 2011 HOUSE OF POLAND LAWN PROGRAM
A great big THANK YOU to all the hard working volunteers and performers who made it happen! Enjoy the pictures!

The food line formed before the food was ready! It stayed that way all day. We got lots of comments on the delicious Polish food.

Hannu Mikkonen, the President of the House of Pacifc Relations poses for a photo with Iga and Dr. Janusz Supernak prior to the start of festivities.

Little Evelyn is wearing the Polish costume in which Grandma Toni Polakowski (right) danced on this very stage in the 1950's! Maybe Evelyn will join the POLONEZ in a few years?

We were honored with a visit from a genuine Polish Princess Lisa Krupiewski Whitesell, and her Royal companion Cassandra Conley. Royalty is not just in Buckingham Palace.

Eva Seibak lights up the Park! Eva also sang the National Anthems of the U.S.A. and of Poland. The US Anthem is a difficult composition, but Eva totally nailed it. What a voice!

Alice Sokolova creates a serious mood with a fine performance of a Polonaise

A Lithuanian mother and daughter enjoy the House of Poland.

Iga Supernak reading a statement on the Constitution of 3 May 1791. The information was relevant and interesting. Iga spoke of the democratic philosophy of humanitarianism and tolerance, and of freedom. She outlined the history and set the scene of the struggle against foreign oppressors and Polish magnates. In solidarity with the American Revolutionaries at the time, the authors of the Polish Constitution were associates of Polish freedom fighters for America, namely Koscuiszko and Pulaski.
Later in the program Iga read the statement on the Beatification of our beloved Pope John Paul II.

The youngest (and most beautiful) member of POLONEZ, Natalie performed delightfully. Extraordinary stage presence and grace. A real talent.

Rachel Droiet and Payton Beckman came from Pt. Loma Nazarene University to do research on Poland. They will be studying in Europe next year and plan to visit Poland.

The House of Poland inspires romance in everyone!

"Be Not Afraid!" Our treasurer Judy Pawluczuk is not afraid to display the portrait of late Pope John Paul II. We commemorated the Pope as our event day coincided with the Beatification of the Pope in Rome.
Post Scriptum
The 1st of May was an extraordinary, historic, and momentous day this year. We celebrated our freedom and our good life with food, song, and dance; Karol Wojtyla (aka JPII) is on a fast track to sainthood; and Osama bin Laden was killed.
On this day we saw the ascension of grace and the death of evil. May we all go forward in peace.
